We find the problem. We forge the fix.

IT, automation, and websites for small businesses that shouldn't have to figure this stuff out alone. One person. Built on listening first, building second.

00  /  Who this is for
No tech jargon. No twelve·person sales team.
Just someone who actually knows your business.

Most small businesses don't need a bigger IT company. They need one person who picks up the phone, understands how their shop actually runs, and cares whether the thing they're building will still work next year.

That's what this is. Twenty·five years of experience in endpoints, infrastructure, security, and automation — brought to local Mahoning Valley businesses at a scale where I can actually be useful.

01  /  Services

The three things I do best.

01
Ongoing · Month·to·month

IT Support & Systems

The IT person you don't have on payroll. Patching, monitoring, setup, cleanup, the "why is this computer doing that" calls. I work with businesses that don't need a full MSP, but still deserve someone who knows their stuff.

For when… your staff is sending IT questions to whoever's nearest, your backups are "probably fine," or nobody has ever actually looked at how your computers are set up.
02
Project·based · Fixed price

Automations

The quiet magic. Most small businesses run on spreadsheets, manual copy·paste, and ten·minute steps that happen fifty times a week. I find those, then I eliminate them — with tools you can actually maintain.

For when… someone in the office keeps saying "there has to be a better way," or you're paying for software that's doing 10% of what it could.
03
Project·based · Built to last

Websites & Custom Tools

When the website needs to do the job, not just look the part. Modern sites and small custom applications — fast, easy to update, and built so you don't need a developer every time you change a price.

For when… your site hasn't been touched in five years, or you need something your off·the·shelf tools just can't do.

Need something else IT·related?  /  Ask. If I can't help, I'll tell you who can.

02  /  Method

How I actually work.

Every engagement starts the same way: I listen before I pitch. Because the real problem is almost never the problem people describe on the first call.

01

Listen.

A free 30·minute conversation. No slides, no pitch deck. I want to understand what your business actually does and where time and money are leaking.

02

Assess.

I find the real problem and tell you what's worth fixing, what's fine as·is, and what I honestly can't help with. You get a written proposal with a fixed price.

03

Forge.

Build the thing. Test it. Make sure it works when I'm not in the room. Then stay close enough that you know who to call when something changes.

03  /  The person behind it
A letter, basically

Why I built this one·person shop.

I've spent 25 years in IT — endpoints, infrastructure, security, automation. I've worked in big environments managing hundreds of systems, and I've sat across a kitchen table from a business owner who just needed their email to stop breaking.

What I love isn't the technology. It's the moment a business owner realizes they can stop doing the thing that's been draining them for months. That's the job. The tech is how we get there.

ScottForge is small on purpose. When you work with me, you're working with me — not a junior tech, not an offshored helpdesk, not a sales rep who disappears after the contract is signed. I take on a small number of clients so I can be genuinely useful to each one.

If that sounds like what you've been missing, let's talk.

04  /  Questions, honestly answered

Before you reach out.

What does an engagement actually look like?

Every project starts with a free 30·minute call. No slides, no pitch — just a conversation about what's frustrating you. If it's something I can help with, you get a written proposal with a fixed price. If it's not, I'll tell you who to call instead.

How much does this cost?

It depends on what you need. Most work is priced per project, because the value of "what will this save you" varies wildly business to business. Ongoing IT support is typically month·to·month based on how many systems you have. I'll never quote you something without first understanding what you're actually trying to accomplish.

Are you available during business hours?

I'm building ScottForge while finishing out a full·time role, which means I'm honest about response times. I return calls and messages every evening and most weekends, and I'll set clear expectations up front for anything time·sensitive. As I grow, those windows grow with it.

Do you work with businesses outside Youngstown?

Right now I focus on the Mahoning Valley — local is part of the model. Being able to drive over, sit down, and actually see how your business runs is a big part of how I work. If you're nearby and not sure, reach out and we'll figure it out.

What kind of businesses do you work best with?

Small businesses without a dedicated IT person — typically 2 to 50 employees. Industries don't matter as much as mindset. If you believe your time is worth something, and you're tired of either figuring tech out yourself or getting talked down to by a vendor, we'll probably get along.
